Old School network marketers lived by the mantra , “Everybody is your prospect”. Meaning that everyone you meet is a potential customer.

In reality, however, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Not everyone wants to hear about your business or products. This is what has give our industry a bad name.  Over-aggressive sales reps acting more like used car salesmen than business owners.

The old-school approach in getting MLM leads is one-dimensional and forces the marketers to resort to hard selling.

Think about it from the perspective of your prospect.  What would the lead feel towards the overaggressive marketer? Instead of becoming more interested to what the marketer is saying, he will just feel aggravated, and in a matter of seconds, will hang up or walk away.

You’re lucky if a few would show some interest after you’ve given them this treatment.

So how can you effectively get quality MLM leads? Distinguishing the right from the wrong ones is easy.

First, good prospects are those who want your product because they feel that what you are offering them a solution to their needs and problems (think no money).

It is important to eliminate unqualified leads because they will be a waste of your time and won’t help you grow your business. I know in the begining you’ll take anyone with a heart beat, but take my word for it…unqualified leads will make you pull your hair out.

It would save you more cost and time if you concentrate in marketing your business only to those who already have an interest in a home business. Makes sense, right?

There is a bigger chance of getting more downlines through them because they have the motivation.

Second, good prospects are those who acknowledge you as an expert in the industry. These leads look for you and ask you for more information about your business. If initial prospects take a second look at you, it is already a good indication that they are interested in becoming a part of your business.

Once you’ve already defined your target market, it is now easier to position yourself in order to get more good leads. Instead of exhausting yourself in hard selling your business to passive prospects, you can now devote much of your time laying out all of your business’s information to quality MLM leads. By doing this, you will be able to gain their trust in no time.

Just remember that the right leads will come your way without being too pushy. There are ways to get tons of leads online that are effective and efficient in attracting the right prospects.

Also, don’t forget about your content. It will always be the heart and soul of your MLM business. Marketing your product all depends on good leads, an effective lead generator method, and a concise, yet clear content. Do these and watch your sales shoot up!
